Pending League approval, the Minnesota Swarm activated captain Ryan Cousins to the team’s 23-man roster.
Cousins, 29, spent the first half of the season on the sidelines because of his his full-time job as a firefighter in Toronto.
“Going into the second half of the season with Ryan back in the lineup will be a big boost for us on field and in the dressing room,” general manager Marty O’Neill said. “Ryan brings lots of confidence to the whole group and it couldn't come at a better time.”
Cousins has been Minnesota’s captain since the team’s inception in 2005 and will hold the same role for the remainder of the 2011 season.
The former NLL Defensive Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008 has appeared in 121 games in his nine-year career, totaling 73 points (31g, 42a) and 547 loose balls.
