Campbell must complete probation to avoid criminal record

Toronto Rock goaltender Pat Campbell will be spared a criminal record if he completes probation and community service, a judge ruled Monday.
Provincial court Judge Heather Lamoureux agreed with defence counsel Balfour Der it wouldn’t be against the public’s interest to grant Campbell a conditional discharge.
If Campbell successfully does 12 months of probation and 100 hours of community service, which the judge recommended be done training kids in Lacrosse, he’ll be discharged absolutely.
Campbell, 33, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm in connection with a Stampede 2009 incident in a Calgary bar.
