Leblanc named NLL Overall Player of the Week



Toronto Rock forward Stephan Leblanc was named the National Lacrosse League's Overall Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performances in the Rock's two games last week.
Leblanc recorded eight goals to go along with nine assists for a total of 17 points in two Rock games. On Friday, the Rock defeated the Boston Blazers 15-14 in overtime, with Leblanc scoring the game winner. Leblanc finished the night with five goals and four assists.
Leblanc continued his offensive attack by tallying three goals and five assists in a 15-14 overtime loss against the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday. Two of his goals came in the final minutes of regulation, including the game-tying goal with 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter. 
Washington Stealth forward Luke Wiles received Offensive Player of the Week honors by contributing five goals and five assists in the Stealth's 19-14 win over the Calgary Roughnecks.
Minnesota Swarm goaltender Nick Patterson was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Patterson recorded 47 saves on 55 shots in a 9-8 win against the Edmonton Rush.
The Transition Player of the Week was Brodie Merrill of the Edmonton Rush. Merrill had a hat trick and collected two assists, while retrieving nine loose balls in a 9-8 loss at  Minnesota.
Rochester Knighthawks forward Cody Jamieson was again named Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. Jamieson recorded his second hat trick in as many weeks. He scored with 5.4 seconds left in regulation to put the Knighthawks into overtime, leading to their eventual 11-10 win over the Boston Blazers.
